No sound from my computer?

I can't get any sound from my computer I have went in the control panel and checked the audio still no sound I even bought new speakers and still no sound. I don't know what it could be anyone knows what could be the problem?

Are you sure they're plugged in properly? Maybe the plug or the socket is faulty. When did it happen? Sometimes the speakers don't work after a Windows Update though, and you need to restart it if that happens.
