Why is my dog dry heaving and not eating?

My dog is not looking so good. He would not eat this morning. When I call him he will not respond like he normally does. He is dry heiving. He was neutered three days ago. I checked his stiches and everything looks as if there is no sign of infection. What do you think is the problem? Can someone give me a logical explanation?

When my puppy got spayed she was a little whiny when you picked her up. I guess your puppy is in pain. I would try to make it as comfortable as possible and rub its back or something, and like everyone else says take him to the vet or call them.

Well, the people who nuetred him should have told you that if he doesn't eat within twenty four hours that you are to call and take him back in to be examined. the problem might not be on the outside but on the inside.
It could be someting totally different but you won't know until you take him to the vet.

he ate within 24 hours but he just wont eat today.

same thing happened to my fiends cat (theyre similar kindof!!?)
and you should really take him to the vet as soon as you can...!

did they give him any medicine for the pain? they didn't give my dog any... his tummy could be a little upset.
if it has nothing to do with his surgery than he still needs to be taken to the vet to make sure he isn't getting sick with something.
When my dog was a puppy he got parvo and that could be life threatening, thankfully my puppy survived.
Just take him to the vet if he isn't eating. or just try again a little later!

did you feed him or give your dog water the first day you brought your pup home??

also he may just be recovering my puppy got spayed also and she did the same thing you just described she didnt eat and also vomitted a little but it was nothin g serious ait was just that she was recovering from the surgery in a week she got better started playing and eating so I dont think you should worry much and also try not giving your dog a lot of food just a lil till he looks betterl.

TAKE HIM BACK TO THE VET!!! It could be from the anethesia (it takes a couple days for it to be totally absorbed into the system)...but it also could be something totally unrelated...A pup dry heaving is not a normal reaction to ANYTHING...

Back to the VET NOW! Could be an internal infection. There won't be an extra charge, it is a follow up visit. Don't mess with this.

My dog was spayed about 6 months ago and this is a sign that they told us to watch for. CALL YOUR VET NOW!!! That doesn't cost anything and can answer everything. You put money and love into this wonderful pet...now don't lose it!!! I'll pray for you!

well first check if its nose is wet if its not that means somethings really wrong so you would need to go the vet
