on your iTunes program, there should be an option to restore it to the factory settings (that takes all the music and pictures off of it). if you can't find that option (which is usually from not having updated your iTunes software via the internet updates), you can press down on the center button while pressing up on the MENU button simultaneously. this should restore your iPod (or reset, whichever you prefer to say) to its original state.

if that still doesn't work, go to the apple website and check out their FAQ and tech support guides on iPod nanos.
