Idea's to stop biting nails?

Im a terrible nail biter, I dont even realise im doing it.
Im sick of being embarased of my hands, to the point I dont want to lend pencils out in case they see my nails when I hand them over.

I know there are some nail polishes you can use that taste...

disgusting which im looking into at the moment, but I was wondering for any out of the ordinary ideas?

put perfume on your fingernails. it tastes HORRIBLE but it smells good

I stopped biting mine recently (after biting them for almost all my life). What I did was get the BRIGHTEST, UGLIEST nail polish I could find (take a color that makes you feel sick) and I put it on my nails. Therefore every time your hand goes to your mouth you'll be reminded of not biting them.

put something spicy on them [like tabasco sauce on them] you can rub it off of course, but the heat will still be there. or like badaboom said, put perfume on them.
