How can a person tighten up loose belly skin?

Irish Dancer Asked by lil_blue_mermaid about 1 year ago, 10 answers.

Ok so say you have lost a huge amount of weight and you have this skin that needs to tighten up because it hangs and the fat you have left hangs in that extra skin, how do you get that to tighten up, is there any exercises that you can do to tighten that...

skin up?? It causes you to be a bigger size pants size than you should be.. this is a general question and a curiosity one. My aunt has been asking me for help and I don't know what to tell her told her I would do some research for her

Skin has elasticity, meaning it can be stretched and contracted. There are not any exercises that can be used to restore elasticity. Time can help reduce loose skin because it has a chance to contract. Make sure you have a vitamin rich diet to make sure that the skin is well taken care of.

Going to the gym and gaining some muscle in her stomach might help.
Doing weights and stuff like that.

A gym instructor told me one time that if you have 4 inches or less you can do sit ups. He told me to do 10 sit ups a night, and them build up more over time. He said if you had more excess skin than that the best thing is to get a tummy tuck.

Exercising tightens muscles UNDER the skin. If you have much excess skin, the ONLY way to get rid of it is through plastic surgery.

A diet high in fruits, vegetables and vitamins will help your skin be in better condition. Sugar and a lot of empty carbs make the skin lose it's elasticity.

I think whether or not skin can snap back into place depends on a few things. First thing is your age, the younger you are the more elastic your skin is and can bounce back if you weren't that over weight to begin with. Second is how over weight were you and for how long. There are very few people who are genetically gifted who have had babies and then loss the weight and have no sign of lose skin after the first month. For the rest of us there will always be a little tell tale sign of skin so your not alone (I'm one of them).
