How do i get rid of the throw up smell in my carpet?

okay my friend threw up on my carpet after our amazing night of drinking. I cleaned it up but it is right new to my vent which blows hot air and my room stinks like throw up. Honestly I've sprayed my room with air fresners but this smell will not go away...

any suggestions?

Hey Overit- Buy some of the Pet Resolve or any other carpet cleaner that has a good scent to it and follow the directions exactly, and is should work. Good luck,

You can rent a carpet steamer (Rug Doctor)
from Wal-Mart at their customer service desk. You have to buy the cleaning solution separate and you only get it for 24hrs - but it's cheaper than buying your own carpet shampooer.

yea..don't put vinegar on your carpet..that's sick!!! try using those carpet powders on your floor and then wait 15 minutes and vaccum it up..then get the same smelling airfreshner as your carpet cleaner and spray it..make sure it's that one kind..ugh, I forgot what it's called!!!..oh oh oh...febreeze!!! that stuff is a miracle worker!!! for sure!

have a dump in another area of your room and that smell will divert your attention from the sick smell elsewhere. alternatively buy a new carpet, or move house

Steam clean your carpet, then use Febreeze or Oust and hopefully it will work. Sometimes it takes a while to get the smell to go away.

Try a pouring a box of baking soda on it and let it site for a while, then vaccum it up.
