Getting a tattoo? is it painful?

When getting a tattoo is it painful? How does it feel getting a tattoo, Im thinking about getting a tattoo later and I was just wondering if it is really that painful.

The tattoo artist can answer many questions. I hear it depends where you get it.

Mine felt like when you touch those bug-zapping blue lights as a curious kid. Like a very strong buzz scratching me. I think it would bother people who don't like the fingernails on the chalkboard.

More importantly: TATTOOS ARE PERMANENT. 'Thinking of getting one later' sounds like you're taking it pretty lightly. The pain of the moment is the smallest consideration to be made.

Think about it for a while. See if you still want it after a year. How many things did you like a few years ago that you wouldn't even admit to now?

Surprisingly, it didn't hurt me at all.
I guess because I have a high pain tolerance.
I got mine on the wrist (inner) and it didn't hurt at all.
It's like plucking hairs.
