How can you remove gasoline smell from clothes?

I had a bag of clothes in the bed of my husbands truck on the way to camp and the gas can fell over and drenched my clothes. Is it possible to get the smell out ?I read somewhere that you cant wash them in the washer...help

You might try the ole skunk-odor cure - soak in Tomato soup/liquid paste.

As strange as this may sound a 12 ounce can of Coke in with your detergent works great but it has to be coke no pepsi or store brand.
