Any suggestions for eczema help?

Just me. Asked by msmaliah over 2 years ago, 6 answers.

I don't even if I spelled that right, but anyhow, my little boy has bad eczema on his back. I have been using the doctor recommend cortizone cream, even though it helps the inflammation, it leaves white patch of skin behind after it heals. Any...

suggestions? I don't want him to have all these patches all over his back.

Dear msmaliah,
Eczema can also triggered by foods commonly milk, allergies and stress. People with Asthma will typically have eczema patches. If he hasn't been looked at for allergies that's where I would start. Speak with the allergist about an elimination diet for milk, wheat etc. All soaps need to be without perfumes that includes dryer sheets. Keeping the area moist is a must so it doesn't crack or itch. Remember it has to do with the immune system so it has to be treated from with in.
Sue...good luck

I myself have had ezcema since childhood. My mother kept my beautiful brown skin lubed up with vaseline, from head to toe. I currently use it on my daughter, and I use Keri shea butter lotion. It's like $6 a bottle but it is worth it. Also make sure you are not allergic to shea butter. Keri has other varieties as well.
Hope this helps because I know how bad it can be, and how bad it itches.

Thanks for your replies, my son has been tested for allergies and we do steer clear of those triggers, but I am open to any suggestions.

You dont have it for life, if thts what people are telling you. I mean, it CAN go away.
I was born with it, and I got rid of it last year. I just have white pigment spots where the rash used to be. I had it literally EVERYWHERE. it was really bad. So it IS curable.
Try using Snail Slime Gel. That helped loads with me. IIf you want to get rid of it bad enough, and really focus on yourself not having it, it wil dissapear. Trust me.
And it's not like your babies will have it, because no one in my family has ever had it. It's just me.
Good luck, I know how bad it is, but dont focus on it! xx
