Do you think its nasty to bite your nails?

Ok well,you see my friend bites her nails but her fingers look nasty.I told her to stop and she tried but it's just nasty,I told her she could bite them just not around me...at all.do any of you agree that it is a nasty habbit and cant stand it?

It's only nasty if they spit out the used nail bits all over the place. That's pretty nasty.

get her some anti-bite liquids, they taste bad and will probably work (I used to chew on my hair, a little oil and I never did it again...)

Ok this is soo nasty don't people even think before they do this? Don't they stop to think they have any germ from anything they've touched in their mouth now? And in very odd cases you can even get tapeworms! Total ick!

Well it's a habbit!! They can't help it!! Yeh under your nails are the dirtiest parts of your body , but it's still a habbit! So just when she does it remind her and say hey aren't you trying to quit?? Then maybe she will!! If she's your friend do activities that when she does them she won't bite her nails like painting, baking things, I don't know just whatever else you can think!! Take her to a nail place and have them put fake nails on them, that way she can't bite them and even if she tried she'd be chewing the fake nail!! The glue it REALLY strong so she CAN'T take off the fake nail!!

I think it depends on how clean the hands and nails are, but still, you can't get rid of the germs. Have you ever seen nails, ear wax and stuff like that under a microscope or in a petri dish? Pretty disgusting.

Yes that is so disgusting I know quite a few people who does this. I really don't ever do it. I pick on them if it chips off at most but bitting it til it looks all short and gross? That's too much. If she's trying to stop, I suggest her to rub her fingers with icy hot so if she do bite them, it'll taste revolting and she's going to stop on her own sooner or later.

It looks really gross, and I speak from expearience because I used to bite mine ( ever since I was seven ) and over christmas and the new year I made an effort to grow them back, putting this special stuff on them and all, but a few weeks back I had a total relapse and started biting them all over again.

I hate it when people do it. The little sound it makes and stuff, ew. And your right, after their nails look awful.

Since we humans do not live in a bubble, we are constantly exposed to biopathogens through every contact in the physical world and human interaction (I.e. is sex disgusting?). Each of us has our own weakness. I confess that I am a serious life-time nail-biter who cannot stop (I do enjoy it) and am not ashamed to do it any time or any place. I am also a respectable and successful career man. I accept myself for who I am. So do most people.
