Why won't my computer show backgrounds?

my mom messed up my computer =[
she deletes stuff all the time. but she did something and it made it so that my desktop picture wont show up, no backgrounds on the internet will show up either.
the background is white all the time, and when I go to...

change the desktop picture, it wont let me click on anything. its like its locked.

put a password on it maybe? if its your computer she shouldnt be deleting stuff in the first place, but if its just the family comp then you need to just show her the crap its done, then a bunch of technical stuff comes into play and you have to reformat the computer in order to get all the files back that are needed to make the computer work right.
but anyways it sounds like the desktop has become inactive, like your mom has turned safe mode on, that just turns the desktop white and causes it to appear as locked. or maybe...was your desktop from the internet? if so its probably just the internet having some add-on turned off towhere the backgrounds wont show up.

Try:

1) Right click on desktop.
2) Choose properties
3) Click on the desktop tab
4) Chose the pic you want to show up

See if this works. I have Windows XP and dont know if this would work for Vista.

how do I get the backgrounds to show up on my pages? like myspace. mine judt shows up white, and I cant see my friends as well their's is showing up white as well.

help!!!

Hi, if you ever get an answer to this question, please forward it to me. This is happening to me too. Websites are not showing backgrounds, they just show up white. How do I fix this problem??? Help!!!
