Clipping around dog's eyes safely?

How do I safely clip around my dog’s eyes?

Answer #1

You need to hold your dogs head firmly and pull up the hair, for example, if it’s on the bridge of his nose pull it straight up and do a quick clean cut.

Your dog will know better than to move his head forward into the scissors, the worst he’ll do is jerk his head back away.

Good Luck =]

Use the same scissors the professionals use…the ends are blunted…at least the bottom one is…Holding a dog tightly isn’t as easy done as said…use a leash, and tie her up close so her head movements are limited, yet she won’t panic from being held close…Distract with treats…give treat…clip a little…give treat…clip a little…it’ll be slow, but it will also be a positive experience so the next time, there will be less trauma.

The worse thing we can do with both dogs and horses, is get in a hurry…
