Chihuahua pups, food

How often do I need to feed my chihuahua pups? They are 12 weeks old. I know they can get sick if they dont eat/drink enough threw out their day. But trying to potty train. So I dont really want to leave their food down all day. Or should I just wait...

till they get older to limit their food intake.

Three times a day...breakfast, Lunch and dinner...down to two times a day at 5 or 6 months (or forever...my dogs have always done better having their meal divided for morning and evening)...

Just feed them 1 time a day.

I have 4 Chihuahuas and I just leave their food down for them, I offered food every 3-4 hrs when they were pups, they will poo usually about 20 minutes of eating, please try to feed EVO small bites dogfood , I'ts very small so they don't choke, and they don't make quite the mess when they go, and no wet food, because it tends to cause diaria, potty training is helpful when there is an adult dog thats trained

Phrannie and Linda Marie have great advice, Also what ever puppy food you are feeding them should have a chart on the bag telling you at what age and weight how much they should be eating, this is also a good conversation to have with your vet. This little guys can have lots of trouble if they become overweight.
