I was a diver in my swim team, just dont worry about it to much. do your best. for the competions you need to have a lot endurance. you need to be able to swim a few laps around the pool without stopping. you need to always stretch because when your in the water its easy to get a cramp. just have fun
I'm a competitive swimmer and the best advice I have is to really just worry about yourself. Only look at the people beside you a few times to get that extra push of energy. You really need a lot of stamina and good breathing techniques. You say that you have not swan in competition, but do you swim a lot? Work on all of your strokes and be comfortable doing each one and feel confident and strong! Best of luck.
Peace!
