ok, I've had my 360 for almost a month, meaning the 30 day warranty is almost up, and I was playing yesterday, and all of a sudden I saw the 3 red lights, they were flashing, and my console shutdown. I had a fan directly behind the console to cool it, and I was only on it for about an hour... and I had it in an open space, it works well now, its just I want to know if it just overheated, or if I should bring it back and get a new one, I read online that the console shuts down by itself if it overheats, but I also read that it will flash 2 red lights if it overheats, I had 3, maybe a rrod soon? I also dont have the cash for the warranty
try laying it down instead of laying it upright , maybe that'll work ( p.s - if your xbox 360 is on the carpet TAKE IT OFF ! I found out the xbox absorbs the static in the carpet , ruining the console )
Do you have your X-Box in the upright position?
If so, it's more prone to over-heating; try laying it flat instead.
If that's not the case, you may need to call the manufacturer.
Try investing in a cooling system for it, we just got one for ours. Try not to keep it in a closed area or put things on top of it.
you need a coolier! lol I know I have a xbox360 too and I have one.. but before I was afrid of it over-heating.. just Buy one?
oook ill lay it down but I wont be able to put the fan on it then
