What does the word "egotistical" mean?
Someone on funadvice answered one of my questions saying Isn’t that a tad egotistical? I have no idea what he meant by that_-
It means a person who is full of themselves, a person with a big ego who thinks they are awesome.

It means selfish. So I believe the person meant that naming the child after the parents is selfish. Because normally, people would EITHER give a child his or her own name OR name them after someone they admire. So If I name my daughter Emmy, and my grandmas name was Emma, then I gave my baby that name in reverence to my beloved grandma. But if I name the child after myself that is weird. Because like that I tell all the world that I think I am so great that I admire myself over everyone else I ever knew. In reverence to “Me, Myself and the holy I”…
