I am doing a history test and I need to know why the trenches were used in world war 1? HELPP!
lol think if you were being shot at from every direction where would you go so you dont get your head blow off your shoulders(below the ground)and the trench was used so they could still shoot back and so when a tank came their way they could duck in the trench without getting their legs blown from under theml,I hope this helps :)
for cover to get to other places wasnt it :S
they were about 10ft high so was compleatly shielded from small arms fire and most artilary... unless 1 went straight into the trench
ichibanarky the question was unanswered when I came in...
I was doin summet else so its what I said :p
They used trenches for rest, protection food talking to family re loading guns ect
Then dress it up, but that's basically what it was for...it was for protection.
...so they could roam around freely and not get their heads blown off.
Ha ha ha ha I cant put that in a history paper
What I said - for protection.
they where in belgium
Thanks guys x
