Why can't I download anything?

I can’t download anything. Whenever I download a video on my computer, it looks all messed up, and unusual.

Why is it doing this?

There could be a few reasons… there are 3 which spring to mind as being the most likely:

  • You are using an old computer, which isn’t able to handle playback of current video files (my desktop computer used to be like that, before I souped it up)
  • The video files are encoded with a compression algorythm, such as DivX or Xvid, and your computer doesn’t have the interpreter programs installed (easilly downloaded from the internet for free)
  • Or the program you’re trying to play the video’s in is corrupted a bit and that’s why video playback is messed up.

Try option 2 first, if there’s no change, try option 3 (and try playing it in a few programs) and if neither of those two work, then it might well be option 1…

Let us know how you get on.
