Why.. Is it normal for a lip to bleed after piercing it?

wow. umm sounds like an infection? or possibly you may have hit a vein you should go to a professional piercer and ask them 1st because they would know more then any doctor would.

I pierced my own lip last month and when I toke out the needle it bleed a lot . and was purple in side and red outside .

it may be in fected did you sterilize the needle ? and have you been cleaning your piercing . it is very dangerouse to do any pierceings buy your self .

YOU NEVER PIERCE YOURSELF. Thats the dumbest thing you could do. You can get infections, keloids, hit a vein, all sorts of things. a lot of people who pierce at home think that just because they burn the needle, its sterile, WRONG. And there is a big difference between piercing needles and a regular needle. Piercing needles are hallow on the inside, so they take the skin and everything out where the jewelry goes. Regular needles like safety pins, just puncture the skin. Thats what causes keliods. A keliod is when the skin grows over the jewelry, and its very painful, and looks disgusting. I’ve never had one, but I know of people who have, all because they didnt think and went and pierced themselves at home. I got my lip done professionally, and it didnt bleed because it was done RIGHT. You could of seriously hurt yourself if you hit a vein. Go to a doctor because if you have an infection you’ll need antibiotics, and you’ll also want to go see a professional piercer too for more information on what you can do. Just be prepared to probably be slammed when you go there because nothing pisses them off more then people who try to do their jobs themselves, and they are the ones who have to go help you try to “fix it”. Basically, you or anybody for that fact shouldnt pierce yourself at home. Just pay to get it done professionally, if your parents say no, then get over it and wait till your eighteen, because the world wont end if you dont have your piercing that you probably only want for a fashion statement. Piercing yourself donsnt make you look tough or badass, just stupid. You a risking a lot doing it, not a bright idea.
