Why do you the inner planets are grouped together?

Answer #1

Huh? They’re not. They have independent orbits.

Because they were close enough to the Sun to be able to scarf up the solid matter around the Sun during the formation of the Solar system. The larger outer planets were stuck with mostly being able to scarf up the remaining gas.

Answer #4
