Why and how did this happen with my ears?

Ok, So I recently just got my ear double pierced and its been perfectly fine. this morning whenI woke up to clean my ears the diamand stud earing was half way in my ear! like the earing went backwards into my ear. So I just pushed it back forwards and it popped out. Now the hole is big and wierd. My dad sad it will heal back to its normal size. I just want to know what happened and why. If you know pleasee tell me! Thanks!!!

You got your ears pierced which means you have a fresh wound. the way your skin works is that it will heal around objects and envelope them. You must have slept on your ear and caused the stud to push itself further into the fistula (the tube of skin that forms when you pierce your ear). It’s not uncommon, and it will heal normally like your father stated.

Just keep following the care instructions, turning and cleaning your ears, and sleep on your back if possible. It shouldn’t happen again because the wound won’t be as fresh.
