Where can I get "Background music" for my radio show?

I have noticed on some radio shows they loop certain sections of a song or play instrumental songs in the back ground whilst talking. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a source for this stuff out there or do you have to make them yourself?

I just saw some news that Opuzz royalty free music library is having a sale 30%. Stingers are good for your radio show or perhaps just a little editing and fade in and fade out using sound forge free version is quite easy. I have tried the ask people for free but it just is too much effort and everyone has different terms etc and what if they sign up someone later how it will affect them etc and contracts tat I now just buy royalty free music for my wedding videos.

You have three choices:

  1. Get permission from the song’s owner to use the track and/or pay them the royalties necessary to use the track. Failure to do this means you’re using copyrighted material without permission and you could build up some pretty hefty fines and fees.
  2. Use royalty-free music, such as is found at http://www.royaltyfreemusic.com/ or other such sites, but most of these sites still want to make a dollar or two and will either charge you per track or charge a small subscription fee.
  3. Make your own.
