What would happen if I left with the kids?

I had our first child at 18 and I was young and foolish and signed custody over to his father. Who’s mother took care of him while I went to the army. I left the army and got discharged and for the past 2 years we have been together and I have taken all care of him by myself. Now we have a 5 month old and I do it all. He refused to help, only play.. I have custody of her. He is very emotionally and mentally abusive to me. I need to get out. What happens if I take the kids and move?? Any advise on how I can get out of this abusive relationship with both my kids??

Talk to him and maybe his mother (if you think that she will support you) make it clear about how you feel then get a lawyer to help you get out, or just get a lawyer and move
