what should I use on my hair?

I had a natural level 8 all over.. then I put in some highlights.. then tone them with a blue purple, now they look brown.. what did I do wrong? what should I put in to make then lighter?

if your trying to remove the color you would 1st have to either strip it with color remover or you could wash it with head and shoulders,that actually does work. then when you get it the color you want. if your going for blue or purple highlights get some manic panic dye. you can get it at hot topics and it is sold online also from ebay,sallys beauty supply stores. for your best result you would have to pre-lighten the parts you want to a almost white/platinium blond.
