What's wrong with my computer and how can I fix it?

For the last 2 days my computer has been acting strange. on tuesday I started getting lost of pop ups, and I had never gotten pop ups before. then I bought an antivirus and it detected 6 problems with my computer. (I got norton internet security 2008) I thought that the problem would be solved, but I keep getting these pop ups. today when I tried logging into photobucket it says that the server cannot be found, but I can go to other websites. I couldnt load the myspace page for a while either. now I dont know which problems are coming from the antivirus settings and which are from something else… how can I fix it? and why do I keep getting so many pop ups?

I have windows xp and I used to use firefox but after I installed the anti virus, firefox wont even load so I have to use internet explorer. I think I got it from my sister’s computer because she used my flash drive and as soon as I put it into my computer everything went crazy. I thought that it would be fixed after I got the anti virus but its still the same…

Simply a Rose to brighten your day,         And maybe lessen the cares in your way;         And also, too, to help you to know,         That in knowing you, many others grow!

Ad-aware removes spyware and it’s FREE!

Also, try going to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Choose “Restore my computer to an earlier time” then choose a date that was a week or so before you started having problems with your computer.

You won’t lose any data but you might solve some of your problem(s).

Okay what operation are you using? Is it Vista, Windows XP, etc

What browser you use? (Intenet Explorer, Firefox, etc)

And did you download anything lately before the problem started? Like some music file or did you go to a risky website that features a lot of popups?

In general I think it’s cause of something you downloaded that you shouldn’t that could cause viruses and crap. Be careful out there in cyberspace…
