What's a good topic sentance/conclusion for a speech on john lenon?

I’m writing a speech about john lennon and I need a topic sentance and a concluding sentance.

Answer #1

Try opening or closing your speech with a quote. John Lennon has some great, well known quotes. Look at http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/j/john_lennon.html for about 50 or so to choose from and you can maybe pick one that you could easily work in to a part of your speech. Your topic sentence should open up your speech the way you are going to describe him in the rest of your speech. Decide if you’re a fan of his ideals or if you simply don’t agree with much that he’s said and either go with ‘John Lennon was more than a Beatles bandmember, he was a wise philosopher and a dreamer.’ Or, if you are portraying Lennon in a negative light, start with a quote found in the link above about him believing he/The Beatles are more famous than God or saying he believes he is an egomaniac and say ‘John Lennon admitted to be an egomaniac, and I agree’ followed by a supporting statement or quote. Try closing with ‘Mad man or genius, John Lennon was a very interesting man that continues to influence many people.’ Good luck on your speech!
