Number 1 thing is Excersise!
If you can take just abit more excesise you will start to lose weight. And once youve got you excersise going you can start to eat more cabohydrates (pasta and such) when your going to excersise and less meaty fatty food that arnt gonna give you the slow energy release you need.
Problem is with diets is they deplenish your stores of sugar and these stores release water, this mean you will lose quite a bit of weight in water very quickly but then they will run dry, the lack of sugar stores makes you drepressed and the weight stops dropping because all the water has been released. And genrally people go back to their normal diet here and replenish their sugar (glycogen stored in the liver as opposed to fat)and end up where they started.
But if you can start going for a swim once a week say, or a run if you feel like it Or even better a team sport.
The FDA recently made companies change the way that they post ads advertisint products that help people lose weight. Now, every product ad on the television must say "when used in conjunction with proper diet and exercise".
Unfortunately, as it's not the "easy" route that people are looking for, the only guaranteed way to lose weight is to control what you eat - both quantity and the substance, in addition to exercising.
Eat lots of vegetables, healthy carbohydrates in smaller quantities like whole grains and rice, and fruits. The whole protein / atkins thing is a joke for the most part, and unhealthy besides, as your body needs vitamins & minerals. Good luck!
