What Kind Of Music Interval Is This?

Is this a Minor second, Diminished second, or Major second?Though I’m pretty sure that it’s not Major or Perfect second.Thank you!

Answer #1

I’m pretty sure it’s minor second.

It can’t be major, cause major wouldn’t have a flat/sharp.

I don’t think it’s diminished. Since it’s #F, and E. Usually with diminished intervals it’s lowers, not increases… =\

Answer #2

@Russmon, Thank you for your answer, but sixth isn’t one of the choice. Plus for it to be in 6th interval, there would be 5 key notes, theres only 1 key note here so it’s has to be one of different Second.

Answer #3

Augmented sixth

Answer #4

I checked with my son, the music theory expert, I guess it wasn’t that complicated:

it’s one semitone, a minor second, two semitones would be a major second a diminished second is perfect unison, 0 semitone

although he chuckled over my answer stating that in an augmented 6th chord there are 2 notes that are a one semitone interval, if played separately would be a minor second
