What is the difference between a netbook and a laptop?

I was thinking of getting laptop or a netbook but I dont know what the difference is.

Answer #1

Basically, a netbook is smaller and has no disk drives. It’s good for writing or basic internet usage, but if you’re into gaming and downloading movies, I recommend you stick with a laptop.

I actually love my netbook, but I use it mainly for documents.

Answer #2

The functionality of laptop and netbook are the same. The difference between netbook and laptop is the size. Largest difference is the physical size and weight. Netbooks are much smaller and lighter, more portable. This is fine if all you want is to surf the web, take care of e-mails, etc. Perhaps the largest setback of a netbook is the lack of a cd/dvd drive and serial/data ports. Recently I’d purchased an Intel Atom Processor based Laptop, which allows me to access anything, anywhere and anytime and wherever I’d like to. Intel atom based processors Netbook is a great little piece of technology, lightweight and easy to take anywhere. “
