Answer #1

fasting is when you go a certain amount of days without eating and I dont think its good 4 you at all cause everyone gets hungry and it would make you be sick and not feel good and stuff like that

Answer #2

Fasting is when you dont eat for a certain period of time. For christians, I know that you fast when you want something you’ve asked god to do to be done, or to show that you are his child. Im a christian so I’ve fasted quite a bit. You drink water the whole time so its not exactly starvation and it never lasts more than a few days. But fasting isnt neccisarily not eating. You could go on a fast from pork for example. Its kinda confusing when you really think about it…

Fasting is not necessarily a bad thing. It is a detoxification process. The body has been ingesting processed or even non-processed food every single day from birth. Its system needs a break! Medical studies, such as the Calorie Restricted Diet, have shown that fasting actually improves health, memory, increases lifespan, reduces blood pressure and the chances of getting diabetes. If you don’t fast, you are actually overworking your organs like the heart, liver, kidneys, colon, pancreas, which has to work to get rid of all the toxins from the processed foods. Fasting along with an intestinal flush, is better. But don’t do the flush too often, as it can affect the kidneys and eventually shut down the proper colon function as your body gets to an older age. One of my friends takes a laxative once a week, and does not fast. Coming from a poor background, he actually had a gifted memory and excelled in baseball in his hometown. I am assuming, that getting rid of toxins, sharpened his brain, cleared out his adrenals, and increased his stamina.

Answer #4

To fast is to do without food. Its purpose is to experience the effects of not eating.

Answer #5

some religions will FAST for a religious occasion.

I believe ISLAM requires fasting during the day while ramadan is happening- they don’t eat during the day and wait until it is dark.

as long as the ‘fasting’ is not ‘starvation’ it is usually safe.

Answer #6

Ok, so if you don’t know what your talking about, don’t give ignorant advice.

Pwincess, seriously. People fast just to see what its like to “experiance the effects of not eating”? You mean hunger and starvation? That was idiotic.

Fasting, in the Christian culture at least, is when you do without something for an extended period of time and replace it with meditation, prayer, or something similar. It’s traditionally done with food, but can also be done with other things we do on a daily basis like TV and Internet.

Answer #7

well in religious terms, its when you dont eat and that whole time your pretty much praying
