Funding is like getting money, like if you were haveing a rock concert and sold tickets you would be (getting) money so funding is getting.

Funding is just talking about money. Depending on how they were using the term they could be funding something or something could be funding something they are doing.

Like a job funds a family by a way to provide money to the family. Without the job there would be no money. And fundraisers are so schools and churches can raise money
