24 months…when the dog is mature is the correct age for breeding. It sounds like you might too late, if you’re asking if it’s safe at 1 year. No…it’s not the safest age…at one year a German Shepherd is very much still a puppy…they are late bloomers, and don’t mature until 24 to 36 months.

Hopefully, you’ll get Vet involved if you plan on letting her carry out this pregnancy.

There are varying opinions on this, but the norm seems to be after the second or third cycle, or not before two years of age.

However, with such a high rate of homeless puppies and dogs in the world, I would strongly advise that you have your female spayed and forgo any possibility of breeding.
