Theres tons of ways to cut costs. The time of the year you plan to get married (less popular months and dates will provide cheaper costs), picking the right venue (outdoor wedding at a friends house, town hall, recreational park, are all cheap options), shopping for dresses in the clearance section of bridal shops or buying a used dress (since most people only wear it once for a few hours used ones are in perfect condition), using flowers that are native to your state and the season is cheaper, decorating yourself saves tons of money, invite some women from the family to help and be creative, the dollar tree provides tons of weddin decorations that look lovely and are cheap.

-Keeping your guest list very limit

  • Having an outdoor wedding in a free location (My girlfriend had a beautiful wedding at a public park and than had the reception in my backyard and served burgers. It was a wonderful wedding)
  • Making your own decorations
  • Serving simple food or having a pot luck
  • Borrowing/buy second hand or make your own dress

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Congrats on your wedding :P

Here are some ideas that I have heard over the years to help save on weddings:

  • Reception at your house or a nearby park: The reception doesn’t have to be in a rented venue, if your house (or a generous relative’s house!) is big enough, why not have it there? It will be a friendly environment and you can make the rules! Also reserves, parks and beaches are beautiful outdoorsy places to see your day coming to a close. Rent or buy a cheap shade cloth and some tables and you are all go!

  • Self paid: A lot of people these days cannot afford meals for everyone, so it is becoming the trend to have self paid weddings. All of your guests make a meal donation of whatever you need ($40, $90…) and that covers their meal (which is one of the most expensive parts!). If the meals/catering aren’t very expensive, you could be a bit cheeky and put the ‘donation’ up $10 and let everybody pay for the drinks too!

  • Rent the dress: Wedding dresses are expensive, renting a dress might be the answer to your money problems! Rented dresses will still be in beautiful condition, and she’ll get the dress of her dreams for a fraction of the price! Keep in mind that your wife has probably be dreaming about his day for her whole life, so if she really wants to have a dress that she can keep, it’s best to let her. Women are very sentimental.

  • Recycled flowers: What do people do with the flowers after their wedding? They keep a couple of bunches to press, and throw the rest away! You could go down to your local popular wedding venue and ask around for any weddings on the same day as yours. Contact the bride and groom and see if you can arrange to use their flowers after their ceremony. You may need to ask a few couples but you can probably find some generous people willing to help you make this day one to remember. I know a few people who have done this successfully.

  • Photographer: Do you really need a photographer? On the invites, tell everybody to bring their digital and disposable cameras. You’ll have a hundred shots of all of your favorite moments to pick from, and even more shots of moments that you may have missed! You could also put a few disposable cameras around the tables for people to use. When you get back from your honeymoon, you’ll be able to log onto your social networking site and see hundreds of photos tagged of your happy day.

Hope I helped :P, Hope you have a magical day.
