How can I wake myself from ‘sluggish zombie mode’?

I basically don’t get enough sleep at night no matter how much I try. Either I’m not tired, too tired, or something keeps me awake and I only get 4-6 hours on a good day. Sometimes I have a nap when I get home from work (if I can) and I do have my coffee, but I still always feel sluggish all day long. So I was wondering if anyone had any ‘wake up’ suggestions for when I feel sluggish? Something to de-zombify myself? xD I know more sleep would do the trick, but again, I’m having issues in that department and am trying to work it.

Take a shower maybe. Taking showers has always helped me wake up or maybe just splash some cool water on your face

Yeah, Kat’s right, showers are useful as is washing your face, if you have time to do a quick workout when you get up that could help too, and eating light for breakfast rather than heavy food that can just make you feel worse.

agreed…seems like you are experiencing some sleep disorder…(i should know I cant fall aslrep til i am completely d*ad tired…that means fall asleep at like 5am…wake up every 2-3 hours for one reason or another…wind up waking up like a zombie…

  1. Take a shower to wake up…
  2. boost that day with some strong coffee
  3. make yourself take that extra long way to work, forcing you to be more alert!
  4. make sure you have a nutritious breakfast…not just cereal or a cookie…try something like whole wheat toast & some dairy cheese you like…(mine was farmer cheese) that will boost your metabolism & give you that extra energy you need in the morning.
  5. of course you need a good 6-8 hour sleep at night…

if you are having issues with falling asleep try this…

  1. take a bath surrounded by lightly fragrance candles…nothing spicy or it will have the opposite affect! shut the light…for 30-45 mins
  2. try some soft music that will calm you down while in the bath…(my favorite is a female singer called Sade…The best of Sade album is just amazing for tranquil, relaxing bath time music…you can try to youtube a few of her hits for reference
  3. take some cool water in a bottle so you dont dehydrate & fall asleep in the bath.

by the time you are dont, that will help you & allow you to get that tired feeling so you can fall asleep a little easier…worked for me like a charm when i had a bathtub…only have a shower now :(

Hope this helped…good luck!
