well its harder to choose foods that can make you gain a lot of weight, because cutting out poultry, beef, chicken and seafood does cut down on a lot of calories in an average persons eating habits. it doesnt necessarily mean you will lose weight as one, because there are still junk foods and other stuff that can make you gain weight that dont have animal products. however from personal experience as a vegetarian of two years, I do find it hard to gain weight even if I try, and I am pretty slim.
Potato chips and soda are vegan you know.
Most people who become vegetarian also take a more active interest in eating well so often they loose weight or have an easier time maintaining a healthy weight but it still comes down to food choices and how much you eat.
no it doesnt i have been vegetarian for two years now and its not cause you dont eat meat its your lifestyle to like ohter food you eat and exercise and ive lost wait cause i play 7 sports run every morning and night :}
No, I was a vegetarian for 5 or 6 years and when I started eating meat again I actually lost weight. Everyone is different though.
Not necessarily. If you eat a lot of non-meat junk food, you can still get fat. If you eat healthy vegetarian food...then yeah.
Didn't make a difference for me. I don't really think it should in most cases.
Nope, not always. It depends on your body and what you eat.
