Tubal ligation questions?

I’m getting tubal ligation next friday. I was wanting to know what the pain is like after and if there are complications to worry about and any details about it would be great! thank you

Answer #1

No complications really, the pain goes to maybe a 5 on the scale. Your abdomen will be bruised on the outside for about 2 weeks, though it won’t really hurt like a bruise would, any other questions?

Answer #2

oh and you should only be in pain for maybe 3 or 4 days

Answer #3

The pain is minimal - it’s 2 tiny incisions that heal quickly.

Complications - when I had mine done, scar tissue inside had adhered the clipped Fallopian tube to the inside of my belly, which caused pulling and pain whenever I stretched or even sneezed. I had to go back several times so they could keep cutting it away. It still hasn’t healed properly 14 years later and, to this day, I have to curl up in a ball when I sneeze because the pain is unbearable.

Also, you should know that the tubal ligation is only guaranteed for 5 years … many women have become pregnant after this stage.
