I'm getting tubal ligation next friday. I was wanting to know what the pain is like after and if there are complications to worry about and any details about it would be great! thank you
The pain is minimal - it's 2 tiny incisions that heal quickly.
Complications - when I had mine done, scar tissue inside had adhered the clipped Fallopian tube to the inside of my belly, which caused pulling and pain whenever I stretched or even sneezed. I had to go back several times so they could keep cutting it away. It still hasn't healed properly 14 years later and, to this day, I have to curl up in a ball when I sneeze because the pain is unbearable.
Also, you should know that the tubal ligation is only guaranteed for 5 years ... many women have become pregnant after this stage.
No complications really, the pain goes to maybe a 5 on the scale. Your abdomen will be bruised on the outside for about 2 weeks, though it won't really hurt like a bruise would, any other questions?
oh and you should only be in pain for maybe 3 or 4 days
