Being ticklish is a question of the mind.

I used to be extremely ticklish, too. It is based on your general attitude towards people. You subconsciously do not like being touched by those people. So your body reacts to touch by a person by giving you this bothersome tickle feeling. I assume that in situations when things touch you - like walking through high grass or the touch of a piece of cloth, your own hair - does not tickle you. It’s only people. And maybe animals. Right? Unless you do not know what touches you. If it comes surprisingly then it also tickles. That is normal with all people.

You dislike being touched. This is not a disorder or anything. You simply belong to the people who need a lot of personal space and who feel uncomfortable when their personal space gets invaded.

If you are very bothered by your ticklishness, you can train being not ticklish. The trick is to find someone you trust, and ask them to help you with that problem. The person must then tickle you, and then you let them tickle you, you allow them to. You tell yourself that you want being tickled and you do not fight back or retreat. You just try to relax and not feel uncomfortable. Just shrug it off, relax and try not to bother. And yes, try to relax your muscles, too. It’s a purely mental thing. If you practice long enough, you can have your best friend or your sister try to tickle your foot soles with a feather while you just lay back and close your eyes.
