Well i believe that it can be argued from both sides that the person doesnt know anything about life if they say death is the worst thing but in some cases death could be the worst thing. I suppose if you had a great life and were young with alot of ambitions and you died tragically it would be the worst thing for the family and the aspiring person. Also when it comes to depression and suicidal thoughts the worst thing depression can lead to is death. There are things in life that a terrible, life suffering from cancer and things of that sort but i believe death is the worst thing that can happen. Eat break, torture, suffering you can bounce back after all of these if you are a strong minded person but when you die, you are dead and there is nothing after that unless you believe in god then you go to either heaven or hell and heaven is suppose to be amazing so in that case would be amazing but as i dont believe in god death for me is the worst that can happen.
I don't really agree. I think the point of the quote is to say that suffering is a part of life. To know something about life doesn't mean that life has to be wonderful, it's saying that things suck, and if you're sheltered enough to think that death is the worst thing that can happen, then you haven't really lived. I don't believe in god, but I'm not worried about death. I've had some problems, and I'll live through more; I've helped some people, and I'll most definitely help more in my lifetime, and I'm okay with going, someday. My main concerns are and always have been 1. Living an interesting life, and 2. Not losing love. Also, the worst thing depression can lead to is not death, but self-torture, both physical and psychological, for years leading up to su!cide, which I don't believe is the same as death.
I think its talking about If someone thinks death worst then feeling the pain of seeing your family hurt or having your heart broke or all your dreams crushing or the look on someones face when they lose the one they love or is stuck in emotional stress.. they no nothing about pain. I would say if you get deep into it it makes allot of sense in ways. thanks for answering everyone i really wanted to know your opinions :)
You could take it in a more positive way. A lot of people choose to "celebrate life" instead of mourning death. If you believe in celebrating life then death is not as depressing of a concept. From that view, thinking death is a horrible thing, means you have not lived life.
You can agree or disagree, but it's a lighter way of seeing things :-)
I think that it's all about perspective. How people see life and death is as different as our fingerprints. However depressing this statement may seem, to others it may hold true. Hope his helps :)
I think the worst thing that could happen is hell after death. while you alive its not what u know about life its who you know (God).
Very light, i love it. Lol
