What is one terahertz?

In which purpose it used?

Answer #1

I believe it’s used to measure electromagnetic radiation. If I’m not mistaken, the frequency of the waves are expressed in terahertz.

Answer #2

1000 Gigahertz. That’s used for items with really high electric radiations. I think for supercomputers and other stuffs like that.

Answer #3

ur right ,

Answer #4

thanks for the points. =)

Answer #5

Terahertz waves are in an interesting part of the electromagnetic spectrum. They fall between infrared and microwaves. Earth’s atmosphere absorbs 1 THz waves so they are not normally present and any that are produced do not go far. Radiation in this range is also refereed to t-Rays. T-rays have been in the news as a means for security scans at airports. T-rays easily pass through clothes but are reflected by metal and water so they could easily find hidden weapons as well as give the screener a good idea what the person being scanned would look like naked. T-rays also have potential for medical imaging. It is potentially safer and/or more effective than X-rays for a lot of diagnostic imaging.
