Why didnt she get suspended for longer if she hit me first?

They dont want you to hit back, so they give you equal suspensions (it is stupid, but they’re all a little wary with the school shootings)

Schools suck. People who try and deal with stuff like that, dont always know the whole story. have you gotten in a fight before, has she? if you have anshe hasn’t maybe thats why? or maybe you usually get in trouble more? either way, thats stupid, and not fair.

Dear mikes_baby_gurl_15, I’m a detention/suspension supervisor…you both got the same amount of time because you retaliated. Some schools still hold true to 0 tolerance so both parties leave. We are currently investigating the bully laws closer where this would mean that the bully…and that could have been you? Goes out for more time and the “victim” does time for hitting back. Not always does the bully hit first…sometimes the “victim” has enough and retaliates with their fists, knives and even guns sometimes. So they were using the 0 tolerance and you both had to go. So Sue90, What’s the difference between retaliation and defending oneself? And why would anyone be suspended for defending themselves against a bully? Shouldn’t they be praised? Why would we want to encourage a child to allow a bully to beat on them? Do we really want to teach children that cowardice, conceding to aggression, is a moral value to be encouraged? -Ann
