Why are you supposed to wear green on St. Patrick's Day?

Answer #1

Greeen is the color of a shamrock and to the irish st.patricks day is like a day for partying and drinking. And some maybe honor their country/nationaility.Im irish :) but i never really do anything for that day except wear a cool green shirt.last year i made one of my own that said irish babe with the flag and i wore it to school.i was made fun of.don’t ever let anybody judge you or make fun of you on any religion/nationaility you are..

Answer #2

Actually the entire wearing green thing or you get pinched is an American tradition and its not practiced in that manor in ireland. In ireland on St Pattys Day from what ive read (since i dont actually live there) a person either wears green or orange. This brances from the irish flag which is green, white, and orange…green symbolizing catholics, orange symbolizing the protestants, and white in the middle to symbolize peace between the two. On st. patricks day catholics where green and protestants wear orange.
