How are you supposed to take care of a hamster?

You need to Grow up there more to it, then just Feeding,watching it, and giving it water! Their foods Hamsters can’t eat, theirs a certin way you must clean it,because you can’t give it a bath. Theirs a type of way you have to clean the cage! So you don’t you “DUH” Me! I can’t belive a 31 year old is saying that. You have to be the dummest Adult alive. :P

you should clean the cage about every two weeks. instead of wood, you could give it a tissure. they seriously love tissues. they will put the whole thing in their cheek and then go make a bed out of them. it keeps them busy for a long time!! hamsters can eat MOST fruit. They can eat dried banana, bits of apple,carrots, etc (those were my hamsters favorites). I would reccomend not giving your hamster meat…and yes, you can feed it veggies,nuts, seeds, and fruits. those are all fine. You can take it outside. You can put him in a box or exercise ball and bring him outside for a little fresh air. BUT Don’t take him out too much. He can catch a cold, get bugs like mites, fleas or lice on them. So be careful when they are outside.

but hamsters will be perfectly happy with a tube, a wheel, water bottle, food dish, things to chew on, etc…and they love the little yogurt treats you can buy at the pet store :]

Another thing that you could do for your hamster is to put cotton wool in his cage i.e. fill it up. He’ll make his own nest then and be nice and warm.

Also when I looked after my friends hamster I used to give it carrots and cheese. You can give it apples as well.

Also rather than take it outside, put it in its ball and let it run through the house.

okkayy i have a hamster i use woodshavings as a floor basicly and i use lots of shredded tissue/newspaper for bedding. i clean her cage once a week she like a tiny peice of veg not too much though as they may get ill, u can give it apple and my friend gave hers a grape and it loved it. i have never taken my hamster outside, it will get cold and could die :(
