What is the standard text-messaging rate?

Answer #1

Five cents per message in or out.

Answer #2

For Verizon I think it’s either 10 cents or 20 cents, depending on the plan. Multi-media messages are 50 I believe, but they may be more nowadays. It’s obviously cheaper just to tack on a set of them to a phone plan though, like 250 for $5 a month. I think I pay $25 for unlimited, despite the fact that I send one text a month if that. Silly father in law is on my plan and text crazy, but I’ll leave that story for another day.

Answer #3

Haha, Sammie the salesperson :)

Answer #7

Ah, for my track phone it’s .3 minutes for every text and a full minute for every multi-media message. Some track phones have free incoming. I don’t because all of my minutes are doubled. I rarely rarely rarely use that phone, but throwing that out there. What minutes cost is beyond me though. Haven’t bought any in a year :)

Answer #8

i have the unlimited texting plan for verizon and its 15$ a month. but thats with a family plan…

Answer #9

From standard US cariors, for txt msg that are not on a plan I have seen rates ranging from $.10 to $.35, and some only count outgoing while some count both incoming and outgoing.
