I like jazz/mellow songs. I have a fairly deep voice and can sing songs like Eliza Doolittle, Amy Whinehouse, Sara Barielles, Michael Bublé, Paolo Nutini, Ray Lamontagne Etc.
What shall I sing?
Try Duffy - Warwick avenue or syrup and honey. She has a deep voice and those too songs are gorgeous. Some other cool female artist with deeper voices to check out - The cranberries (songs, linger and zombie), Hole, Garbage (songs, Bleed like me), Kittie (song, Paperdoll), A fine frenzy (song, Almost lover), No doubt (song, dont speak), Pink (song, Dear mr. president).
I can stretch my vocals to quite a bit, but it's easier for me for the jazz-like songs. Puts you in a better mood aswell plus it fits the bill considering it's a coffee shop that does the open mic night aswell. Could you reccomend a few songs?
maybe try some jamie cullum. he's my fav :)(: some songs by him are catch the sun, i'm all over it, if i ruled the world, we run things, these are the days, all at sea, but for now. see if you like those...i do! :P hope you like it :)
A song that is with thin you vocal range. You don't want to go and try and hit the Aguilera notes and strain your voice and you don't want to go to low to wear you sound like a man.
Try a simple but wowing song.
Canadian Jazz-y Artist: Diana Krall - 'Little Girl Blue Diana Krall-When I look in your eyes (let's fall in love) Diana Krall - Fly me to the moon
