I don't like using handkerchiefs, at least the fabric ones. I just feel like i'm soling it for some reason even though they're gonna be washed anyways, but i don't with tissues because they're disposable. but the scalloped ones are prettier than plain ones. :D I have a few I use for decoration in my room from my great grandma with hand stitched flowers all over them. Very pretty:)
As Aubrey posted...using the vintage handkerchiefs for decoration, showing the beautiful folk art of that era incorporated into today's lifestyle...is a yes. But for the purpose of it's original intent...I use Kleenex as it's more sanitary.
I prefer the common, plain, and square kind myself... For those not in the know, "scalloped" in handkerchief context means frilled, laced, or non-uniform on the edges Alot of them look like enormous postage-stamps.
Yes,infact they are prettier,i have a great collection of them:).
