How can I prevent the ends of my hair from crimping when I curl it?

When I use a curling iron the ends of my hair like bend. Is it just because of split ends or can I prevent this?

Answer #1

I think the problem is coming from how you curl your hair. When you curl it, try wrapping your hair around the curler from the very bottom, so that you get the tips of your hair curled and not crimped from being left out of the curling. If that makes any sense…

Answer #2

this depends on where you start the curl in your hair, the closest to your ends is the best place to start it. if its like a few inches from your ends it only curls the top part and leaves the ends straight causing that bend effect.

Answer #3

Perhaps using a little hair wax, or cutting them if they’re dead ends or perhaps straightening the ends?

Answer #4

if she straightens the ends the top would be curly and the ends would be straight, that would look weird? lol

Answer #5

I mean as in following the way the curls go with the straighteners lol, if you understand what I mean?
