Eee funny a read this not long after a found pokemon blue, a got that years ago and that game was THE BOYO!! Tempted to play on it again lol but in response to your question why not get a used one will be much cheaper and will work just as well

Well with Silver, gold, crystal, blue, yellow and red. the battery would go out I’m not sure of they revised the way the saves work for fire red and leaf green (is there a “water blue”? or icy aqua”? roflmao) but for what it’s worth there you go… Also try google searching it you’ll probably have more luck. search “fire red save problem” or variations ofthe word “problem” and “saves” ect, get my drift?

its probablyt a faulty game dont sell it, because then youd be seeling a peice of crap to someone that doesnt work and when they get far in it, they dont ewsant to have it being deleted on them and realsie that you sold them soemthing that belongs in the trash so dont sell it just throw it away or give it so someone for free (tell them about what it does) and get a new one secondhand places like cash converters that also sell electrical goods and other secondhand items like conssols might get them in every now and then
