Please help me find the answers to these questions?

That may sound weird. But one of my guy friends asked a girl out. she said that she would accept him if he could answer these 3 questions. So he asked me for help.

  1. What is the study that deals with foundation of life? 2.THe nearest galaxy from milky way is 5 billion light years far. if we see something from there, isn’t it 5 billion years ago? (that’s the exact words of what my friend said, I dont even know what it mean, I’m stupid lol :)
  2. “The man is his own master and there’s no higher being or power that sits over the judgment of his destiny.” Who said that? Please help me help him :)

#1 well in religion it is called…Creationism but Darwin’s beliefs are different and would be something totally different. There are many studies that deal with the beginning of life so this is kind of a one sided question…

#2 is just philosophy. But in a way it does make sense so I’d say yes.

#3 Prof Walpola Sri Rahula Maha Thera 1907-1997 he was a Buddhist monk, scholar and writer. The saying is from ‘Rahula 1’.
