What if our relationship is dull and going nowhere?

dear captain assaaain,

hope you dont mind but I have seen that you give great advice and you are very blunt. I was wondering if you would have a look at my problem. Thank you.

I have been with my boyfriend for 4 years we have a little one almost 2 1/2 years old. My problem is that our relationship has gone dull. Don’t get me wrong he is a great father and he helps around the house but when it comes to me it just isn’t there. Example I try to give him a kiss he says get away or I am attacking him. I have tried going days with out showing him affection he doesn’t seem to mind. He will go the whole day with out kissing hugging or touching me. As for s*x might as well forget that I tried to spice it up one night and the remark I got from him was put on some clothes. He doesn’t want to get engaged or have another child with me. Our relationship is going no where. What should I do? Or am I being to needy?

If your boyfriend is repelling ALL forms of affection from you, then the fire is definately gone out. First of all, you need to bring these issues to his attention, talk to him about relationship counselling.

But if he’s not willing to do that; you need to find a way to end the relationship peacefully, so your child won’t suffer as a result.
