I very recently got braces on both my upper and lower teeth. Then last night I tried to play my flute and it sounds absolutely horrible. Is there still a way I can play it?
Growing up I knew several flutists who wore braces so it certainly is possible. No doubt the braces will upset your embossure so it will be like learning to play all over again. You should probably start playing scales and slowly increasing your range through the various registers. Do you have a private teacher? If you don't it might be worth it to take a few lessons for advice on how to best proceed.
I usually find the best way to play a really good flute sonata is to use an mp3 player.
